Say It Isn't So

In the long American tradition of taking something perfectly good and bollixing it all up, there apparently is an effort under way to do a stateside remake of Father Ted, only the funniest television show ever, or in the top 4 anyway.

According to FatherTedOnline, "Hat Trick, makers of the original (series), have teamed up with former Seinfeld writer Spike Feresten to create the US version. Details are very sketchy at best but it seems the show will use the original scripts although probably adapted slightly. It also seems that as the show becomes popular and out runs the 25 episodes worth of scripts, then new episodes might be written by a team of American writers."

Ugh.

Please, write your congressman, pope, and favorite TV producer and beg them not to commit this crime. The people of Craggy Island thank you.

HELP! I could not think of a bigger insult to the soul of the late Father Ted. I'm sure he will come back an haunt all involved, if not he should. I'm sick at the thought. I'm writing the Pope.

Even Mc Carthy is not dumb enough to watch something like that.
