It's getting deep here in Kansas City. Oh, and it's snowing pretty hard, too. Ed Scanlon is here to shovel a load of...Christmas cheer your way.
Merry Christmas to all the Irish Fest family. 2007 was a fantastic year and Santa should be good to all of you who attended, volunteered or cheered us on from the far corners of the world. I have asked Santa (A.K.A. Shocko) for a few extra special bands to put under the tree (make that on the stage). We'll see just how good I've been this year.
Now if you are about to start your Christmas shopping, as I am, here are a few suggestions. Books; Ireland A Novel by Frank Dalaney. If your are a frequent flyer of the blog Danny recommended this as a must reading for anyone involved in Irish Fest it is a wonderful story. For a good laugh Touring Ireland With A Fridg by Tony Hawks. I've loaned my copy and it has not returned, so if you have it I want it back. Any book by Roddy Doyle. He as a new one out after the Woman the Walks Through Doors, but I've lost the title. That is what you can wrap up and put under my tree. Now, how was that for useful shopping hints.
We at Irish Fest HQ are hoping that you all have a Merry Christmas and most of all peace on earth... God knows we need it.
Must go now and meet up with Fitzgerald for a sip of Irish Whiskey...
Merry Christmas
Ed Scanlon
