Breakfast Of Champions

Beer this morning.

That was the topic of discussion at our bi-weekly board of directors meeting over at Irish Fest HQ. Coffee was the drink of choice. We were joined by representatives of our long time beverage partner Boulevard as well as our own Beverage Queen Sarah Schields who gave us valuable input on keeping you, Mr. and Ms. Responsible Over 21 Irish Fest Beer Consumer, out of long beer lines and enjoying Irish Fest like you oughta be.

As I mentioned some time ago, we will be going to a $1 token system at the tents and will have loads of places where you can purchase them. With no change being made, the ability to purchase your whole weekend's worth of frosty malt goodness all at once, and additional taps scattered throughout the Fest grounds, we should be able to significantly improve your beverage buying experience.

Here's your role in speeding this along as we make these changes: tell everybody you know who comes to Irish Fest; No cash at beer tents. Have it printed on a t-shirt. Tattooed on your arm. Help us spread the word so we can avoid having people arrive at the bar with a powerful thirst and a handful of dollar bills, only to be turned away. Your American moolah will still be accepted at the food tents and merch vendors. But at the beer tents? Say it with me: No Cash. Tokens Only. Spread the word.

Thank you for cooperation.

Sunshine, Danny must have forgotten that some folks drink something other than beer at the festival. Hard as that is for us to understand the folks looking for water, soda, wine or anything else in the many bars will need tokens for a beverage. Cash will only be accepted at the food vendor tents for water and soda.
So, Sunshine will you be drinking any of that water stuff? If so let me know and I'll get me camera.

Can you two read?

"No cash at beer tents." I'm not sure how I could put it more clearly than that. And you guys were at the meeting...were you sleeping when we talked about this?

Glad to see we have such a brain trust running things.

Seems to me it should have been noted that those buying all drinks at the drink tents will need tokens. Or just call them "drink tents" instead of "beer tents". Methinks the water drinkers and pop drinkers also won't be happy if they go to buy a beverage, perhaps wait in line, though presumably a short line, and then be told that they have to either go to a food tent or get a token.

Although, hopefully you all will have nice big obvious signs saying "tokens only, no cash" at the drink tents, so that at least the observant will be clued in.
