With the beautiful Indian summer weather we're enjoying today, what are you doing inside? Seriously, what the hell's wrong with you? Okay, yeah, "job blah blah, food on the table, pay the rent blah blah blah." Well, when that nonsense is taken care of, get over to the patio at Eddie Delahunt's Cafe & this evening. Pull up a chair, grab your latté (better yet, grab Eddie's latté. He gets so lonely.) and enjoy some Irish music by Kelly.
Kelly is a band. And a woman. And a shade of green and a tire company, though neither of those is germane to this particular conversation. Kelly the band is comprised of some of the best trad players in Kansas City. Kelly the woman fronts Kelly the band and sings like an angel. Kelly the shade of green is dreadful and should never be used, ever.
Music starts at 7:00, admission is $10, Cafe & is just East of Stateline Road on 45th.

$10? That's Elders prices!
But cheaper than Elton John.
$10!! Does it come with fireworks, Gaelic Storm, Saw Doctors, Solas, Different Drums, Prodigals, Fuschia, Young Dubs, John Spillane, Boega and a meat pie?
No? I guess I'm just spoiled by KCIF. See you in '08!
1 - u can't get all of that at the fest for $10! 2 - they play real Irish music! 3 - this community needs to support more of it's local artists! 4 - support Eddie's Cafe & by going to the show and buying a latte from him!
Oh for God's sake, ya cheap bastards. It's ten lousy bucks. Go support some live local music, enjoy the nice weather, see some friends. Think of the money you'll save not buying beer.
“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.”
Even though Gandhi was talking about much more important things, that's human nature. Our best wishes to all the currently reluctant, quietly anonymous, but ultimately fervent Kelly fans.
Y'all are spoiled rotten up there. Down here around central Arkansas, we're lucky to get to hear live Irish music three or four times a YEAR, and then a handful of us have to rent the hall, run the sound system, book, house, and feed the band, take tickets, and sweep up afterwards. If all I had to do was wander over to Eddie's, plop my butt down in a chair which he had kindly provided and hand somebody $10 to hear "Kelly", I'd count my blessings.
Any one know how the show went? I was up to my ears in kid stuff.
Lovely weather, great music and musicians, and Turlach's dry sense of humor made for a great night. It's too bad more people don't come out and support local music.
