Fest In The News

Read Tim Finn's review of this year's Kansas City Irish Fest in today's Kansas City Star Preview section. A good write up, but...sigh...let me say this for the 87th time. The words "Main Stage" do not appear on any Irish Fest schedule, program, or web page. We don't have a "main stage." We have two main stages. A little thing? Not to us. Not to the world class bands like Gaelic Storm, Solas, Different Drums and Beoga who played the Boulevard Stage, which was also by the way, larger than the Terrace Stage.

The next person who who writes about our "Main Stage" gets a flaming bag of Dugan poop on their front porch.

The Boulevard Stage which was at the corner of Persing and Grand had a great back-drop looking north down Grand. It was so cool!

I think you can expand next year and be able keep this super cool view. Expanding north and moving into Washington Park is my favorite idea. If they close off Grand further north and west into the park would make a great space.

I considered the music very good, it wasn't worth the 10 buck my husband and I paid. I have been to free concerts all over Kansas City. It's sad that you make people pay at the door and then make people pay for EVERYTHING else inside the fest. The fest was crap, agreed on by my friends. Yes we are the younger generation, who you should be wanting to make a good impression on, not a bad one. Geez you couldn't even have free stuff for the kids. There are TONS of other irish fest that are tons better.

Jenn, I'm sorry you and your friends didn't have fun and didn't get your $10 worth. I'm sure next year you'll all have a great time at those other, better Irish Fests where everything's free. We'll all miss you something awful.

The comment from Jenn is very unfortunate. Most people familiar with the bands that were here would have paid way more. My sister saw Gaelic Storm in Utah and spent 35 dollars for those tickets. I saw Saw Doctors in New York and paid 28 dollars. My point is that this was a great festival. I would love to know which Irish fest offers all of these great bands free of charge. Thanks, Liz

Good God, what an idiot. If this is the younger generation, we're all in trouble.
