Eeeeeek!

You'd never know by walking outside today where it's hot and steamy humid today, but October is just around the corner. And with October comes great things. Cool weather. Post-season baseball. Falling leaves. My birthday. And Halloween. And with Halloween comes Deadie Skelehunt's annual Pooka Party.

It's the 4th Pookapalooza this year, as always a benefit for the Good Samaritan Project. Deadie's got some new tricks up his spooky sleeve this year. The "American Gargoyle Ghastly Kostumed Karaoke Lack-of-Talent Competition will debut. Up to three performers per act can compete before what our ghostly host calls "Totally Incompetent Non-Celebrity Judges" which I truly hope I get to be one of.

There'll be door prizes, costume contests, blood sucking, live music, reanimated corpses, dancing, severed heads, drinks, brain eating zombies, and fun for the whole family, provided everyone in your family is over 21.

The party is October 20th, as usual at Haunted Harling's Upstairs at 3941 Main Street. And starts at 8:00 PM (Post Mortem). The cover is just $5, though larger donations to the Good Samaritan Project are encouraged and appreciated.

Need more details? Call Deadie at Café &, 816-753-3322, or just stop in to the café at 45th and Stateline Rd.
