I talk a lot about the Irish Fest "family" here at Tir na Blog. I know that must sound trite to some of you. But I really mean it. It feels like a family here. And this weekend, we're having a wedding in the family.
Amanda Kelly, who Kansas City Irish Fest volunteers will know as half of our Sunshine Twins, will wed the lucky Grant Dennis on Saturday. Amanda, with her curly hair and mega-watt smile, got our volunteers signed up, checked in, and their shifts off to a happy start through the 2006 Fest, after which she decided to take a year off to do slightly more important stuff, like plan her wedding.
Along with several other Irish Festers, I will be celebrating with the happy couple on Saturday and all of us at KCIF HQ wish them many happy festivals...uh, years...together.
