I'm A Common Tater

While I was away communing with the wilderness for a few days, I was of course more than ably backed up in this small part of my job here at Irish Fest HQ by Cami, Shawn, Dave and the two Eds, my guest bloggers. I've enjoyed reading their posts, and now I'm going to do some place-trading. They were the bloggers, now I'm going to be the comment-poster.

Contests...(posted 5/26 by Cami Travis Groves, Contest Coordinator for KCIF)

Smokey McCharcoal said: I'm so excited for the baking contest! Though I've never baked anything before, I'm practicing. To save time, with Irish Fest only 92 days away, instead of baking my soda bread at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, I did it at 700 for 15. Is it supposed to be this crunchy?

Update On Grant Process (posted 5/27 by Ed Follis, Director of KCIF)

OMG! I am so excited! I've been like so TOTALLY into Irish dance ever since I saw Riverdance? On TV? And I totally want to wear a cute outfit like Michael Flatley. Can I get a grant, like just for the leather pants and the headband, or do I have to actually, you know, learn to dance and stuff? TTFN!

Now THAT"S...(posted by Dave Shaughnessy, 5/27)
Krazy Kieran said: Hi! I'm Krazy Kieran, of Krazy Kieran and his Keltic Kazzoo Krew here in Kilkenny. I'm excited to announce that due to a recent change in my busy schedule I am currently available to play at the Kansas City Irish Fest! I'm also free for the weekends before and after, if you need somebody for a pre or post party. I provide the very best of Irish music, as reinterpreted for kazzoo. I've applied to play at such prestigious events as The Milwaukee Irish Fest, The Dublin Irish Fest, The Pittsburgh Irish Fest, The North Texas Irish Fest and the Colorado Irish Fest and I'm happy to say that I even received e-mails back from some of them! This is sure to be the break-out year for Krazy Kieran and his Keltic Kazzoo Krew and I know that the Kansas City Irish Fest will want to get in on the ground floor. So shall we say...Terrace Stage, Saturday night?

Shawn, we really need to cut your work load. I think you need a mountain vacation more that I did. You do sleep occasionally, don't you?

Special Appeal From Ed (posted by Ed Scanlon, 5/29)
Kieran said: Ed, I'm pleased to announce that I'm available to volunteer at the Kansas City Irish Fest this year. I'm interested in positions such as entertaining on the Terrace Stage, entertaining on the Pub Stage, entertaining on the Atrium Stage, serving as board president, oh, and recycling. Sure, I love the recycling. I'm signing up today! Shall we say, Terrace Stage, Saturday night for my my first shift? Sincerely, Krazy...I mean, Kieran. Just Kieran.

Updated entertainment schedule (posted by Dave Shaughnessy, 5/30)

Disgruntled Said: You idiot! You have my favorite band, The Kelihans on at noon on Saturday? I have an appointment to have my schnauzer shampooed at noon on Saturday! And you have NOTHING scheduled for Monday??? I want to hear music on Monday! What kind of schedule is this???

Kieran Said:
Great looking schedule, Dave! Seems a little light on traditional kazzoo music, though. Which reminds me, I have just the band for you...
