Warming Up

Tomorrow, Friday, the St. Patrick's Day Parade organizers are hosting a Green Friday party at Lew's in Waldo. Because this time of year parties are, you know, hard to come by. This may be your only chance to drink beer with Irish people this weekend. Though I doubt it.

Lew's Grill and Bar is at 7539 Wornall. you'll know it by the ginormous tent in the parking lot. This being a fundraiser for the parade and Old St Patrick Cathedral, it ain't free but it is reasonable. $5 pre-sale, which I guess would mean today, and $7 tomorrow. The party runs from 3:00 - 7:00 pm, which means you can go and still be in bed at a reasonable hour to rest up for Saturday. Which I hear is a holiday of some kind.

Irish Fest performers The Kelihan's play at 4:00 and Brogeen Malarkey will introduce the Grand Marshall at 6:00pm. I wonder if that scary billboard kid will be there.

Why do they keep having entries like "THE EDGE OF HELL" in the parade???
What do they have to do with St. Patrick?
