Me, I'm all for education, and smartness and whatnot. I have often been known to read books that I didn't even have to, some with hardly any pictures in them. So I encourage all of you to pack some knowledge into your brains every chance you get.
By way of abetting that, I want to let you know about an education type event that you, smartness seeker, will want to avail yourself of (that means "go to" in smart people talk).
The 31st annual Mid-America Medieval Association Conference will be held Saturday, February 24, 2007 at UMKC. In conjunction with the conference and Dialogos concert, on Sunday, February 25, at 2:00 p.m., in Room 104 of Royall Hall, 52nd and Rockhill on the UMKC campus, Dr. Charles Wright, Department of English, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, will speak on "The Irish Go to Hell: Visions of the Next World in Medieval Ireland, from Adomnam to Tundale." Free and open to the public. No reservations needed. For more information contact Jim Falls at (816)235-2545 or visit the MAMA website at www.midamericamedievalassociation.org.
