Ed Said #5

It's that time of the week when I hand the keys of the Tir-na-Blog-Mobile to the esteemed president of the Kansas City Irish Fest, my good friend Mr. Ed Scanlon. Listen up. There'll be a test on this later. Take it away, Ed:

"Well the "Border War" of Saturday (KU vs MU Basketball) has come and gone. Somebody won and somebody lost. Everyone was excited. Everyone cheered. When it was over some smiled and some put their paws over their eyes. No matter the out come it was a great game to watch those that lost had a chance. In the end no one died, everyone had fun and the "Border War" ended everyone peaceful.

Now, that reminds me of a new band coming to Irish Fest this year--Different Drums Of Ireland. They are from Northern Ireland and the band is made up of Catholics and Protestants. They come together not in a "Border War" but in peace and the result in an outstanding show. Their CD is playing as I write this entry for the blog. Inspiration. But the excitement of seeing them live is like being in the stadium for a basketball game rather than watching the tv from the sofa. You feel it, you're on your feet, you cheer you want to dance, you want to sing, you're excited to be alive. Book your room at the hotels. Plan the weekend. Call your friends. Call your family and get them to come along. Are you excited? Can you feel the pounding of the drums? Gotta go, I need a Boulevard Stout I'm out of my mind with excitement-it is getting closer to Irish Fest!"
