Heart and History of Irish Music

This coming Sunday, November 19th at 2:00 PM, get your good self down to Union Station, specifically to the Irish Museum and Cultural Center (aka The Zephyr Room). Once there, you'll be treated to some great traditional Irish music from Glen Road and Suicra, and you'll get some interesting and entertaining history lessons about the music, the songs and even the instruments played. As if that weren't enough, some of the bouncy-wigged O'Riada dancers will be on hand to further bring the history to life. All ages are welcome. If you're under 18 and/or an IMCC members it's free, everybody else pays $5 at the door.

While you're there, you can get the first look of architectural drawings before demolition and construction begins to convert the Zephyr Room into the new Irish Museum and Cultural Center. That alone would make the stop worthwhile.

The event is sponsored by the Irish Museum and Cultural Center and the McCullough Family Foundation.

The website to visit is www.irishmuseum.org, and for more info e-mail to info@irishmuseum.org, or call 816-474-3848
