One of my very favorite parts of last year's Kansas City Irish Fest was when I had the great and very silly honor of leading the childrens parade through the grounds. It was just a riot, with all the kids blowing horns and beating drums, and throwing things at the back of my head (just kidding about that last one). I hope that I get to do that again this year, as the Irish Fest Kids Parade returns, not once, but twice for 2006.
On Saturday, September 2nd, at 4:45 PM sharp all parading kids should gather at the big Celtic cross near the front gate. The parade will wind through the fest and end up at the Boulevard Pub Stage. On Sunday, same starting place, this time at 3:45 PM and the parade will end up at the Terrace Stage. Smaller marchers are welcome to bring a grown up along.
Mark your Irish Fest calendars, kids. See you in the parades!
