2006 Kansas City Irish Fest performers Tullamore announce these shows locally over the coming weekends:
Saturday night, we'll be performing at the evening concert for the Jubilee of Acoustic Music. The JAM is a series of acoustic music workshops and performances held all day Friday and Saturday at Longview Community College in Lee's Summit. The Saturday evening concert caps off the weekend, and also features Dana Hamilton and Walt Michael (both hammered dulcimer masters). The concert will be held at the Education Center, and runs from 7:00 'til 9:00 (or so). Admission is $15 (I believe).
Sunday evening, we'll be kicking off the SpiritPath Summer Concert Series at the Unity Amphitheatre at Unity Village in Lee's Summit. The is an outdoor performance in a natural amphitheatre, so you'd need to bring a blanket (or something else to sit on). Presently, it's looking to be about 75° for the high that day. Admission is free, and they will be taking a free-will donation. It has been brought to our attention that Unity Village is a "dry" campus... Which means, bring all the soda, chips, hot dogs and fondue pots you want, just don't bring any alcohol.
Next weekend (Memorial Day Weekend) is a busy one as well…
- Friday and Saturday nights, we'll be playing at O'Malley's Pub (yee-haw!).
- Sunday, well be playing at the Celtic Block Party in Waldo. This is a fundraiser for St Vincent's Operation Breakthrough and is jointly sponsored by Locks & Pulls and Governor Stumpy's. You'll also be able to hear music from the Elders, Fireside, and Jim "Mr Stinky Feet" Cosgrove. Word from Kevin Ryan is that our set is at 5:00. Tickets are $10 at the gate, but Governor Stumpy's is selling tickets in advance for just $5.
