Children's Area

Today, in part 4 of "Where Should I volunteer to Work?", we look at Tír na nOg, the land of the young, our Kids Area. We love our Irish Fest kids area and we need a lot of volunteers to keep it humming. Maybe you're one of them.

What you'll do: What won't you do? We pride ourselves on having lots of things for kids to do and we'll keep you and them busy and laughing. You might be assisting young artists with their Celtic masterpieces, or helping them establish a pen-pal friendship with a kid in Ireland. You might be inflating balloons or painting faces. You might be leading the very silly children's parade around the festival grounds. You might be helping the kids navigate those big inflatable bouncey things, or selling souvenirs in our new Kids Store merchandise tent. You might overseeing a story telling session or other performance. Best of all you'll be working with Shawn, the chairwoman of our children's area committee and our Queen of Kids. I guarantee you won't find a more dedicated, hardworking, genial Irish Fester than Shawn.

Who you are: You're a big kid yourself. You're young at heart (or young in fact...remember you only have to be 15 to volunteer!) and young in spirit. You're fun, you're silly, and you love kids.

You know who that sounds like? You, that's who. Why don't you sign up for the Children's Area right now?
