The profile of Morning Star has been posted on the website. One of the most popular traditional Irish bands playing in New York, Morning Star was originally an all-female group. With a bald accordion player named John, that's no longer the case these days.
As well as their own CD's, founder member Mary Courtney's CD 'Scéil Eile' (Another Story), and John Redmond's 'East to Northeast' are also available at CD Baby. 'Scéil Eile' is reviewed on Jig Tim and you can read a great interview with accordionist John Redmond on Rootsweb.
Morning Star have a busy few weeks before the festival, fulfilling residencies and a ganseyload of gigs in New York in pubs like Tír na nÓg and McKeowns.
