A week ago we showed you this classicly adorable cow and told you that it could be yours. Now we tell you how.
In celebration of the heritage and history of Kansas City and things Irish, the festival has commissioned local artists to create a new cow to promote the festival each year. Last year's cow (as on this poster) was the work of illustrator Dan Regan.
This year's cow, that features in the artwork on posters for the 2005 festival, the upper right-hand side of the main website, and shortly-to-appear wallpapers for your very own computer, was created by Kansas City illustrator Tom Patrick. Thing is, to avoid the fate of the 2004 cow, it needs a name.
Children (ages 3-15) at the festival will have the opportunity to "NAME OUR COW!"
The winning entry will receive...what else? A cow! The classicly adorable 48-inch cow in fact. As we plan to have a different cow next year, this will be an annual competition and represents a chance to go down in immortality with the 2005 KC Irish Fest Cow.
The Winning Entry will be drawn Sunday at 9 PM and announced on stage. There will be a limit to how many entries each kid can submit.
