Happy President's Day

Over our 11 year history the Kansas City Irish Fest has had a long line of distinguished men and women serve as president in the Shamrock-shaped office here at the Green House.

Okay, maybe "distinguished" isn't exactly the word I'm looking forward. When I look back at the roster of current and past presidents, giants in the Irish community like Bob Sullivan, Ed Follis, Ed Scanlon, Barney Walsh, Rory O'Connor, Laren Mahoney and myself...no, "distinguished" isn't quite right.

Let's go with "knucklehead."

At any rate, however you describe them, today we honor all our presidents but mostly the incumbent knucklehead, the architect of the corrupt and failed Colgan administration, President Davey Colgan himself.
