Dispatch From Dublin

John Hayes of the KC Irish Fest board of directors has just sent the first communique from the big Irish festivals conference in Ohio, which began today:

"So Kansas City was the last group to arrive and we were properly embarrassed by having to stand up individually and introduce ourselves. We are in the round table discussions now. Topics are beverage tasting, bus tours, Irish tourism, risk management, safety planning, sponsorships, volunteers and merchandise. Will e-mail again and let you know how Laren does on her technology forum."

John refers of course to KCIF president Laren Mahoney who will be giving a presentation on  the role of technology and social media in festival promotion. She will knock it out of the park, I have no doubt.
