Pretty soon I'll be heading north to attend the mighty, massive Milwaukee Irish Fest. I'll have KC company. My son Tom of course, who will be running his Shamrocker Irish guitar video game again. Kansas City Irish Fest president Barney Walsh will be representing up there in Beer City. And Bob Reeder, making his Milwaukee stage debut.
Big deal? Oh hell yeah it is. Milwaukee's Irish Fest is the biggest of the big leagues for an Irish performer. For Bob, this gig is affirmation of what Cowtown audiences have known for years: that Bob is a flat out great performer. Songs, jokes, limericks, guitar, banjo, cittern...Bob brings it all in an inimitable style. Lucky for us, even with his call-up, he'll be here again at our Irish Fest this year, tweed-clad and ready to go.
Congratulations, Bob! Knock 'em dead. I'll be in the crowd cheering in Milwaukee.
