Old School

In spite of my mostly-daily electronic ramblings here, I'm not much of tech guy, to be honest with you. I am one of the only 28 remaining people in America who don't Facebook. I don't Tweet. I don't Skype. I don't Kindle, I don't Nook. I still get the paper thrown in my driveway every morning. I still ride a horse to my job in the wooden barrel factory every day.

Okay, kidding on that last one but you get my point. If you're like me, you might be a little apprehensive about signing up to volunteer at Irish Fest on our website's special page set up for that purpose. You might be thinking, "I'd love to join the festival family. They're so good looking and talented and good looking. If only I could volunteer the old fashioned way, with a pen and paper while wearing my woolen greatcoat, muttonchops and/or hoop skirt."

You're in luck, Larry Luddite. When you come to the annual Browne's Irish Street Faire this weekend, sashay over to the Irish Fest table and look for sassy Sarah "Sorcha Rua" Walsh, our volunteer boss. Not only will she have colorful fliers and answers* to all your Irish Fest questions, she'll have a genuine piece of paper and a bona fide pen full of old fashioned ink so that you can join the KCIF team just like your great-grandpappy would have if we'd around in his day. You still get all the benefits of volunteering, just without having to soak up all the gene-mutating radiation that your eyeballs are exposed to doing it the computer way.

All the details on the Browne's Faire are found here. See you there!
