It's getting to be that wonderful time of year. Not the most wonderful. That would be Labor Day weekend. After that, my birthday. And opening day of baseball season. But St. Patrick's Day season, especially for the Irish music lover has got to be right up there. Lots of stuff going on in the next month. Next weekend we welcome back some Irish Fest alumni as the legendary Derek Warfield and his band the Young Wolfe Tones. Derek is no stranger to Kansas City stages, especially this time of year having anchored for many years the St. Patrick's Day parade committee's big season kick off shindig. This time around he stakes out new ground at Mike's Tavern on Troost, a venerable neighborhood joint now cleaned up, rehabbed and Irish owned.
The show is 8:00 PM, Friday the 18th, Mike's is at 5424 Troost. Get your $10 tickets early at Sheehan's Irish Imports. And let's get the season started.

MLB Baseball season in KC is like boat ownership...the best days are the 1st and last.
