Christmas News Item

Bob Geldof Says He's Sorry For Writing One of The Worst Songs in The World.

"I am responsible for two of the worst songs in history. [One is] 'Do They Know It's Christmas? The other one is 'We Are The World,' he tells Australia's Daily Telegraph. "Any day soon, I will go to the supermarket, head to the meat counter and it will be playing. Every [expletive] Christmas."

The Irish singer, who wrote "Do They Know It's Christmas?" with Midge Ure for Band Aid in 1984, says he also gets irritated when carolers perform the charity hit in front of his home during the holidays.

"They think 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' is as old as 'Silent Night,'" Geldof says. "Sometimes I think that's wild because I wrote it. Or else I am thinking how much I want them to stop because they are doing it really badly."

The apology is nice, but I for one am not ready to forgive, Bob. Seriously..."Where the only water flowing is a bitter sting of tears and the Christmas bells that ring there are the clanging chimes of doom "?? WTF? And you say"there won't be snow in Africa this Christmas time"? No shit, Paddy. Let's fix that, by all means. Yes, I get that it's the thought that counts, blah, blah, blah. I admire the motives behind this load. But come on.

If you've forgotten what a pile of sludge "Do They Know It's Christmas?" really is,  allow me to remind you.

This video is great! Just turn the volume all the way down and marvel at how young everybody looks.

But it gives me such a chance to worship millionaire rock stars who are saving the world . . . from a recording studio.

Tonight thank God it's them instead of you.
