Without question, one of the bright lights of this year's Kansas City Irish Fest were the girls of Girsa, who came in from Pearl River, NY to entertain us last Labor Day weekend. Today this note arrived from Rose Flanagan, band mother and manager to all of Girsa's many KC fans. I pass it along for your consideration:
Hi everyone!
I'm writing for a little bit of help. The Girsa girls (www.girsamusic.com) are currently in a battle of the bands sponsored by an Irish brewing company.
They are currently in first place but the 2nd place group are catching up. I believe this is the first round of voting but every vote counts!
It only takes a few minutes to cast a vote and you can only vote once! (they'll delete any double votes)
If you get the chance could you cast a vote for them? If they win the competition it's a trip to Las Vegas to play out there. There is a chance for you to win a trip as well!
Here's the link http://www.slbc.ie/competition/competitions
thanks so much!
Rose
I've cast my vote. Good luck girls!

Guess you didn't notice, but Flannigan's Right Hook, a band FROM Kansas City and not simply one of the dozens who have played here ONCE, is also in the competition and also very deserving of a vote.
Way to support the home team.
Read what I wrote. I didn't tell anybody who to vote for. I didn't say who I voted for. I merely passed on the information that Rose asked me to pass along, as I certainly would have had the boys from FRH brought it to my attention.
Beer for Breakfast didn't even vote for themselves? Talk about being true to your name!!
...but Flannigan's Right Hook isn't any good.
