World Cup play starts in just 4 days. Ireland didn't qualify so that sucks. We do have the good ol' USA to cheer of course, but if you're feeling lonesome for the boys in green, you can still wave the tricolor during this summer's match play. Just flip it over.
Ivory Coast's flag is the Irish flag backwards. And, you may have noticed that both countries begin with the letter I, unless you go by their non-English names, Erin and Côte d'Ivoire in which case never mind that letter I part. But still, there's the flag thing so let's go with that. Plus they have a player named Barry on the roster (okay, so his first name is Boubacar) and teammate Souleymane Bamba plays his professional ball with Hibernian FC in Scotland. So there's that too.
So let's cheer on our substitute boys in green, white and orange when they take on Portugal in their first match on the 15th of this month. If you flip your TV upside down and drink enough...ah well, we can pretend anyway.
Oh, and go USA!

Or, you could scream for Germany, since a band from Germany is coming to KC Irish Fest! ;-))
