Guess what? This right here is the 3000th post here at Tir na Blog. I have no idea if that number is of any special significance in the blog world at large, but it seems like a lot to me. And it's the first big number I've happened to notice along the way, having totally missed numbers 1000 and 2000. So whoohoo! 3000! Yay for us!
All but a scant couple hundred and change of those three large were written by yours truly in the time beginning in March of 2006 when I inherited the keys to the blogmobile from the previous owner, who I was told only drove it to church on Sundays. I got it in pristine condition and have treated it like a demolition derby jalopy as driven by a drunk chimpanzee ever since. And I've enjoyed every word, song lyric, limerick and cartoon of it. I hope you've enjoyed and will continue to enjoy the news, nonsense and numbskullery we present here day in day out, whether you read all year long or just in the weeks either side of Irish Fest. If you enjoy what we do here, please tell your friends.
Thanks to the many other writers who've contributed to the 3 grand posts since the blog was launched back in May of 2005, including Barney, Cami, Ed F., Ed S., Laren, Liam, Ronan, Shawn, Shocko and other scribes I may have forgotten.
3000...wow. I think I'll have a beer for every hundred. Thanks for reading, kids. X's and O's.

Happy 3000th! Loved every one. Well, almost every one.
Yeah, I know what you mean. That one from April 24th, 2006 was pretty weak.
3,000, huh? So you have something in common with George! - I mean, besides the volatile personality thing.
Wow!! 3000?!?!? That is crazy...and to think i seem to feel like i can never get enough of the blog!
3000 blog entries. And not one mention of a didgeridoo.
{By the way - at an average of 5 minutes per entry, that's just over 10 days of your life spent writing this blog}
Congratulations!
5 minutes? You really think I spend that much time? Hell, the cartoons only take 4.
Marvelous!
Damn it Carol! You stole my comment!
