One of my all time favorite musicians who ever played the KC Irish Fest was Cork's John Spillane. One of his biggest songs of course is the great Johnny Don't Go to Ballincolig, which is a great song. But one I love more is the song he claims he wrote to fulfill a promise to the angry people of the town who were upset by the first song. That response song is "Beautiful Ballincolig". We'll follow that with the beautiful "When You and I Were True" and "The Mad Woman Of Cork". So far so good.
