Snuggle Up

I have a message for you all from Carol, one of our Snug Sisters about the place–the exact place–that you want to be at Irish Fest this year: The Snug.

"Last year, we ratcheted up the Snug, Irish Fest’s private club, about 15 notches.  You can get an inkling from these pics:  Truly, it was dazzling.  ( I mean, have you been to another outdoor Irish Fest?  Was there a beer bottle chandelier?  Yeah, thought not.)  You may have noticed it, down toward the Boulevard stage, elevated off the street, with swanky accouterments, a grand bar, snazzy lighting, a porch type area for prime stage view.  You may have thought, wow, wish I was up there, wonder who that’s for?  Irish Fest Board or Sponsors? Politicians? Investment brokers?  No, my friend, the Snug is for you!  This is the place where you can hang out, or drop in and out of, all day – meet up with friends or make new ones, have a cold beverage, nosh on catered food. You could even sit on the porch and play that stoplight drinking game invented by Pogey’s Colin last year*. There are so many great things about the Snug – the Snug girls have pushed the limit to what you get for your money! – but probably the best thing?  You are free of that complicated strategy involving mathematics, physiology, geography, logistics, beer and bathroom.  Familiar with those tiresome tactics aren’t you?  Well, you’ll have your own bar  and bathroom right there!  How great is that?  If only they let Irish Fest Board members hang out there!

Start planning now, gather your crew, because soon you’ll be able to get all the details and sign up for your Snug membership through the brand new kcirishfest.com."

You sold me, Carol. Learn more about those Snug memberships when the new website launches, May 1st. And buy your spot in June!

*Colin Grant's KCIF Snug Drinking Game: Keep an eye on the traffic signal over the intersection of Pershing and Grand in front of the Boulevard Stage. When the light turns green, take a drink. It's a miracle he was still able to play that fiddle.
