Kids! Kells And Kila In KC

We interrupt me bossing you around and telling you where you should be volunteering like you're not an adult who can make up his or her own mind without the help of some lame blogger, to bring you a special arts bulletin.

Next month the Hibernians on the Kansas side of the state line, Kansas City Power & Light and The Irish Center are sponsoring a special showing of the Academy Award nominated animated film The Secret of Kells. The film, you may remember me telling you, features music by none of than 2010 KC Irish Fest performers Kila among others. It tells the story of a young boy who must fight his way through savage Vikings, wolves and snakes to complete his important mission. Sounds a lot like putting on an Irish Fest.

This special screening is a benefit for Operation Breakthrough and will take place Thursday, May 13th an Westport's Tivoli Theater. Adult tickets are $17, kids 12 and under are $8 and include a pre-show reception. Get all the details and buy your tickets here.
