Which Happen To Be The Gestation Periods of A Monkey And A Squirrel, Respectively.

I don't have to tell you, faithful Irish Fest fan, that we open the big sparkly green gates to the 2010 Kansas City Irish Fest is just 168 days. If you're reading this blog here in the dead of March with St. Patrick's Day over, I'm pretty sure you're either a die hard KC Irish Fest fan or you're in prison with your internet access limited to this one website so you don't find the ones like this.

But even you might not know the important thing that happens around here in just 43 days. 43 days from today is May 1st. And on May first, we open volunteer sign ups for this year's Fest. Now, I can hear what you're mumbling to yourself there at the breakfast table while your Lucky Charms get soggy and turn the milk green. You're saying "big deal. I'm busy on May 1st. I'll just wait until closer to the Fest to sign up." Oh, you foolish, foolish person. You foolish, ignorant gobshite. That's the last thing you want to do. Because the people who sign up early get their pick of the best jobs. You wait until the last minute and you might end up as Special Assistant In Charge Of Foot Massages To Kansas City Irish Fest VP Barney Walsh. And take my word for it, you do not want that job. Don't ask me how I know.

So mark that calendar! Get the green Sharpie and mark that sucker, right there on the computer screen or your iPhone or wherever! On May 1st have your fingers poised over the keyboard and get to the volunteer page on the Irish Fest website. Get the job and shifts of your dreams. It could mean the the difference between a merely awesome Irish Fest weekend and a best-weekend-of-your-life-it-was-so-awesome-weekend. Those are really the only two kinds we offer.
