Olympic Medal Count

As the Winter Olympics in Vancouver continue, we check in with the Tir na Blog sports desk and get the latest Team Ireland medal count. As of today, Sunday, 21 February the count stands at:

0.

BUT...Irish Skeleton athlete (this is sledding, like luge, only headfirst) Pat Shannon of Wexford took a respectable 25th in his event, the gold going to some show-off from Canada. Okay, yes, if you want to get technical there were only 26 finishers. But are you in the top 25 in the world in your vocation? I didn't think so. Congratulations Pat! Well done!
