Band Announcement

Who dat say I can't make a band announcement on Wednesday?

Sorry. A little Super Bowl© hangover there. But yeah, a band announcement on Wednesday. Why the hell not? So here you go. Ready?

Captain Mackey's Goatskin and String Band.

Comprised of Cork bards Máirtín de Cógáin and Jimmy Crowley, along with fiddler Valerie Plested and guitarist Don Penzien, CMG and SB as we'll call them for expediency's sake, are entertainers, historians, folklorists, shanachies, balladeers and occasional comedians. What they never are is boring.

Máirtín and Jimmy are both old friends of the KC Irish Fest and we're delighted to have them return with the new(ish) project. I saw their show in Milwaukee last summer and it's a corker, no pun intended. Come see them here at Crown Center in a scant 205 days. Sure it'll fly by, boy.

HOORAY!! Can't wait to see Mairtin perform again - and hoping for maybe a cameo appearance from Mitra! :)

I agree! Is there anything lovelier than Mitra singing "Our Town" ?

You can get an advance taste of Mairtin & Jimmy when they drop in at Eddie Delahunt's "Cafe &" in early March. They will also be appearing at Paddy Malone's irish Pub in Jefferson City as well. Check with venues for details and tix.
