As we promised you yesterday, here is your second BA of the week. It's our little way of scoffing at the additional 6 inches of snow that fell over night and the one-digit temperatures predicted for today.
We keep on rocking today as we giddily announce that one of the hottest bands on the circuit and personal favorites of mine will be joining us for two nights this September–The Screaming Orphans.
The 4 Diver sisters of Donegal, Joan, Angela, Gráinne and Marie-Thérèse make up the Orphans (although they're not. Screaming or Orphans, I mean.) and if you haven't heard them, you're in for a treat. In addition to great music from traditional tunes to more unexpected ones (they played Sweet Home Alabama for me on my birthday at the Weston Irish Fest last year and have been known to toss a Guns n Roses song into the mix here and there) the Orphans have the most funny, genuine, endearing and engaging stage presence you'll ever see. When you're not dancing your arses off, you'll be laughing them off.
Here's a sample to warm you on a cold winter day. Screaming Orphans, screaming into Kansas City in 239 days! First, the appropriately title So Cold, followed by a set of Irish tunes.

And don't forget...The Monkeys were Irish too that weekend! I am already excited about them coming back to the midwest! I am already looking forward to KCIF!
Awesome news, I love the Orphans :)
