Stepping Up In The World

What price immortality? I'd say about 250 bucks. At least that's what we're paying. See, local landmark Kelly's Westport Inn (co-owned by KC Irish Fest founding board member Kyle Kelly) is selling immortality for just that price as part of their upward expansion.

When you climb the stairs to the new rooftop deck next spring, you'll see on one of those steps a shiny plaque bearing the name of The Kansas City Irish Fest. And the next step up? Why not your name?
"The partially roofed deck will feature a full-service bar, air-conditioned restrooms, multiple TVs, ceiling fans and a unique view of Westport and beyond. And, of course, the friendly atmosphere expected at this 62-year old Kansas City tradition.

We are offering a sponsorship opportunity with this project. We are 'selling' steps for $250. Each sponsor will receive their name, up to 30-characters, on a plaque, a commemorative certificate, an invitation for four to a VIP Party and mention on our website. One plaque will have all the sponsors listed and the website will explain each sponsor's connection to Kelly's.

If you are interested in buying one for a Christmas gift, our deadline is December 15th. We will close all sales in January. Make checks payable to Kelly's Westport Inn, 500 Westport Road, KCMO, 64111."

And you know, this would make a lovely Christmas gift for your favorite Irish Fest blogger. Let's see, 30 characters...D-A-N-R-E-G-A-N. That's eight letters, leaving you 22 more to express your admiration. Use them wisely.
