Staffing News

So how was your holiday? All fat and happy as we go back to work? Here at Irish Fest HQ, the turkey has been been cleared away (and no, I don't mean Ed Follis. He's got one more month) and we're back at work.

One bit of business that we've checked off the list as we plan the 2010 version of the Kansas City Irish Fest: the election of our officers. And with a drum roll, here they are:

President: Rory O'Connor
Vice President: Barney Walsh
Secretary: Laren Mahoney
Treasurer: Carrie Slattery

The terms of those important people begin January 1st, except for Carrie who, being the only person smart enough to do her job, is incumbent. Newly minted VP Barney Walsh is also your 2011 president-elect so you can look for a good two years of kicking him around.

Congratulations to all our fearless leaders! With each new slate of officers, the bitter memories of the failed Regan administration (2005-2007) fade a little further in the mists of the past.

We say goodbye to two of our boardies soon, outgoing president Ed Follis and director Mary Alice Beebe. Elections to replace those irreplacable two (more on them later) are taking place any minute now. A strong group of candiates from both within and without the Irish Fest staff are being considered and when the choices are made, you'll read them here first.
