Pogues Sunday

This coming Sunday is a big day for fans of Irish music and for fans of rock music in Kansas City. On Sunday legendary band The Pogues come to town for one night only at the gorgeous Midland Theater downtown. Shane MacGowan and the entire original line-up in the KC Irish music event of the year...after Irish Fest, of course. It's going to be a memorable night.

And you can go for free.

The Kansas City Irish Fest and Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant have two pairs of tickets to Sunday's show. And they're yours for the taking. Tomorrow, Tuesday, I'll give you a very easy quiz on the band. Kid stuff, really. The kind of things any serious fan knows without even having to think about it. E-mail me your answers. I'll put all correct entries into the album sleeve of my original 1988 vinyl copy of "If I Should Fall From Grace With God" and draw out two names. Those two lucky folks then come by the pre-show party at Raglan Road in the Power and Light District and claim their passes. I'm sure you'll be one of them. We'll celebrate your good fortune with a pint of Boulevard Brewing Company's creamy black Raglan Stout, on the Fest.

One entry per person please. Multiple entries will be discarded. Entries must be received by midnight on Wednesday, October 21st and winners will be notified Thursday morning. Past and current directors and officers of the Kansas City Irish Fest are not eligible. Otherwise, I'd keep the tickets myself, see?

So check back here tomorrow morning bright and early. Answer those questions, get your entry in and win free tickets. And tell Ticketmaster póg mo thóin.
