Kansas City Irish Fest Children's Area boss Shawn Sullivan Warner has a message for you kids about something brand new and super cool at this year's fest:
Irish Names and Crests
"When you see a Skull and Crossbones, you know it is a pirate ship. Well a long time ago many of our ancestors wanted a crest to recognize our families, just from the pictures on the crest. Mrs. Barbara is going to help us learn about these and design our own family crest or make our own version of our real family’s crest. This is a hands-on workshop. This is such a special workshop that we will limit it to the first 25 children who sign up, we need your last name, as we will do some research for you. Please email me at kcifchildrens@everestkc.net to reserve your spot."
Great stuff, Shawn. Interesting, my family crest depicts a dolphin on a riding mower carrying a plate of chicken wings. Not really sure what that means.
Reserve those spots right now, kids. This is going to fill up fast.
