Way back in April I gave you all kinds of great reasons to volunteer for the recycling committee. Remember that? And did you sign up? No? Here's one more reason then, slow poke. This year, in addition to all the plastic pop bottles, cardboard boxes and newspaper we already recycle add this: the plastic cups we serve that delicious, nutritious Boulevard, Coors Light and Miller Lite beer in. We sold something like a billion glasses of beer last year at Irish Fest. And now all those used cups can go not into the trash but back into the manufacturing cycle to be made into things like pacemakers, Groucho glasses, fly swatters, Shamwows® and other useful stuff.
So two things: one, sign up for the recycling committee. More recyclable material means more people needed. Two, after you finish that beer, don't throw the cup in the trash. Find the bright blue recycling bins at Irish Fest and drop it in there instead. Earth and I both thank you.
