The Kansas City Feis, our curly-wigged sister event on Labor Day weekend has updated their website for 2009, although they're still encouraging you to attend the 4th Annual Kansas City Irish Fest for some reason. The Irish dance competition will be held once again right across the street at the Westin Crown Center hotel and once again I encourage you to make it part of your (7th annual) Irish Fest weekend.

Feiseanna are strange and wonderful things. Imagine a bee hive only all the bees are wearing dresses that cost more than your new flat screen plasma TV and are wearing wigs that look like Portuguese Water Dog puppies. Oh, and they're dancing. And leaping. And moving legs and feet (not arms) so fast that your eyeballs will have trouble keeping up. These kids are athletes. And there are hundreds of them in dozens of separate competitions that you can attend and watch. So take a few minutes Irish Fest weekend and walk over to Westin and check it out. Find out more here.
