Reaching the tender age of 23 today is a one of our longest serving staff members, a woman who first joined the team way back in the Brookside Irish Fest days. She works all Irish Fest weekend, day and night and yet you've probably never seen her. Today's birthday girl, Shannon Knopke is our Artist Hospitality chairperson and the Green Room is her domain.
Our philosophy at Irish Fest is this: happy performers give better performances. So we treat our artists very well. They're provided three meals a day. They never get thirsty. They have little thank you packages waiting for them when they check in to their hotel rooms. They have soft couches in an air conditioned lounge to relax, go over set lists and occasionally rehearse in. And all that is organized and overseen by Shannon. As if that wasn't enough, Shannon and her amazing crew also help take care of our VIP after parties and staff gatherings. She's one of the hardest working women in show business and she does it all behind the scenes away from the spotlight and without public praise or attention. Except today.
