The greeting card company I work for has this famous motto. I'm sure you've heard it. It goes "When you care enough to send...some..." No wait. "When caring is enough to send a..." or "Caring enough means sending...something."
Anyway it has something to do with caring, I'm sure of that. And at my other job at the Kansas City Irish Fest, we do piles of caring too. What do we care about? We care about you mostly, is what. Because why else would we throw this big party every year? Not for us. We'd just as soon sit at the pub. It's a lot less work. No, we do it for you. And when we're done and all the bills are paid and if we've had a good year and there's some money left over, you know how we care with that? We care enough to give it to you. But first you gotta ask.
Asking time is almost here. Beginning in mid July, Irish Fest will one again be accepting applications for cash grants from individuals and qualifying not-for-profit organizations. Last year we gave away $25,000. To people just like you. People who had an idea to pursue Irish art, performance, culture or history but needed a little help to get started. So this year, why not you instead of people like you? Just click on that grant application form on our website and tell us your dream, beginning in just a few weeks. Because we care. And they won't let me keep the money.
NOTE: 2008 grant recipients, when 2009 grant applications open in mid July, you'll find a link to your feedback form there as well. Keep in mind that completion of that feedback form is a condition of your grant and we'd appreciate hearing from you.
