Where to Volunteer, Part 5

As the work week hits its Tuesday stride and our minds turn to the tasks that need our attention, let's give a little more thought to where you'll be working 115 days from now when Irish Fest opens. And for today's installment, let me start with a task I have this week. I'll be meeting with Ron Einbender and Margaret Juhnke and their crew on our Mechandise committee. These are the people who provide the t-shirts, caps, totebags, stickers, etc. that you take home from Irish Fest for yourself and as gifts for those poor unfortunates who couldn't come with you. I'll be meeting the merch crew to see what blank products they've chosen for 2009 and to begin the design process. So there's my job. Here's yours: Work in the Irish Fest merch tents.

You'll work there in the cool shade, located close to the action on our main stages. You're manning the Irish Fest store, dealing our wares, helping our patrons pick just the right t-shirt to bring out the green in their eyes or to take home to aunt Cloddagh. Best of all, you'll work with Ron and Margaret, Irish Fest's style setters and two exceedingly fine and top notch people. Making the question why wouldn't you volunteer for the merch tents? I can't think of a single reason. Ready? Go.
