Today let's start at the beginning. Say, Thursday. Not this coming Thursday, the last day of April, but Thursday September 3rd, the last day before Irish Fest opens. What do you suppose is going on at our Crown Center home on that Thursday? I can tell you, because I'm always there. Tables and chairs are being moved and placed. Banners and stage backdrops are being hung. Tents tweaked, displays mounted, fences secured. And a million other little things required every year to make Irish Fest go. Hundreds of zip ties. And on Sunday night and Monday morning? Reverse.
It's a huge job and we hope you'll help with it. Now, here's the smart thing about volunteering with the Site Crew. You get all the benefits of volunteering...the t-shirt, ticket, all that. But think about this. If you work on Thursday or Friday before we open or Sunday night or Monday morning after we close, guess what your job is during the festival? You got it, pal. Listen to music, hang out, enjoy a cool bevy, enjoy yourself. Plus you'll work with our Site Sultans John Hayes and Stevan Ryan who are the two of the finest fellas you'd ever hope to meet.
There are some limitations. There's a bit of lifting. Some use of basic tools, nothing too complicated. But if you can handle those little things, and I'm sure you can, muscle up and join the Site Crew. It's the last spot on your volunteer form, the first on the scene. Operators are standing by.
