Today, mere hours from now, in a solemn ceremony at an undisclosed location, I'll be handed a disc. A top secret disc containing the digital files of our 2009 Kansas City Irish Fest cow. Tomorrow, right here, you'll meet the latest iteration of our bovine beauty, this year rendered by Kansas City illustrator and a friend for more years than I care to remember, Ms. Maja Andersen. You'll love her. Cow and artist both.
Maja (pronounced My-ah), like all our cow artists, took on this task for nothing but the promise of glory, free beer and Fest tickets. We're beyond grateful for her talent, generosity and effort.
The '09 cow, like all our cows, will arrive nameless and we'll be asking children to come up with a moniker later in the year. So get thinking, kids. Hint: she's a girl cow. And she's Irish.
