Today I'm pleased to wish my good friend and fellow founder of the Kansas City Irish Fest a Happy Birthday. Last year I was able to write a parody of Danny Boy. This year I damaged some brain cells last night and feel that I best leave the song writing to one he shares his birthday with--John Prine. Danny is the example of how a board member spends the Irish Fest weekend...on his feet and on the move. So you ask where is he going? Somewhere to insure that his passion for KCIF is not falling short of expectations. If those in Washington ran the nation with the same goals as Danny works at Irish Fest we certainly would not see my retirement package from Irish Fest dwindling away to nothing more than a folding chair in the corner somewhere.Happy Birthday. I'm a fortunate man to have you as my friend.
