Bev Updates

I just came from a meeting of an Irish Fest brain trust where the topic of discussion was our new tokens-only system for beverages. We know this is going to be an adjustment for everybody, and we're going to be asking a lot of you folks as we make this change. But a good and necessary change it is. We're confident you'll see and appreciate the difference when you cruise through those beverage lines.

To reiterate what we've discussed before: plan ahead. When you arrive at Irish Fest, you'll find a token sales station conveniently located near each gate. If you plan on drinking ANYTHING during your stay at Irish Fest, make it your first stop after getting your legal age bracelet. Buy your day's or weekend's worth of tokens on that first stop and save yourself a wait. We're committed to keep waits to a minimum and will expand our sales outlets and sales staff as needed. Those tokens are good all weekend long. They're small and won't stress the pockets of those skinny jeans you look so good in. While no refunds or buy-backs will be given, should you end up with a few left over in your pocket on Sunday night, stick 'em in your sock drawer and save them until 2009. They'll be accepted again next year. Tokens will be sold in $2 increments and you'll be able to make your purchase with cash or credit cards*. No change making at the bev tents means you get your refreshment quicker and you can get back to the festival quicker. After all, we know you didn't come to Irish Fest to stand in line.

I promise you, though it's going to be an adjustment for all of us, this a good thing. You wait less, we streamline our service to you. We'll all have a better Irish Fest. If you have questions about how this new system will work, please don't hesitate to ask. Most of all, remember: beginning this year, no cash will be accepted at the Irish Fest beverage tents, period.

*Credit card sales of tokens will be in pre-set token amounts only. Cash purchases may be made in any amount.

Question - since tokens are being sold in $2 increments and, as you say, are to be used for "anything" you drink, does that mean that bottled water and pop are now selling for $2 each?

Yes, just like they were last year.
