70,000,000 And You

I received an e-mail this evening from a fella called Karl Schweppe, who in spite of his Teutonic name is part of a worldwide Irish diaspora that he claims is 70 million strong. He's part of group called The Seventy Million Project attempting to map that number and is asking Irish bloggers for help. I'm happy to oblige:
The SeventyMillion Project is a social project to find, map and explore Irishness and Irish heritage worldwide. There are 70 million people around the world with Irish heritage or an Irish link and we are trying to find where they are and also out what that link means to them.

We've created a website (http://www.seventymillion.org) where we are mapping people around the world and capturing their thoughts on their Irish link.

We're really trying to make this a person to person project; and we hope that with each person we contact, we get a little closer to finding those seventy million people around the world.
So check it out, Paddy. Mark your spot, tell your story.
