Sorry, Mom

I was reminded by an anonymous commenter (whom I strongly suspect was one of my many sisters) that I neglected to mention that yesterday was my mother's birthday.

It was.

I don't think she'd mind me telling you that she turned 83. As befits a woman of her advanced years, she's currently on the coast of Newfoundland drinking beer with two other old broads.

I'm not kidding. She and her friends Anne and Lois are attending the annual Westports Of The World convention which my father founded back in the '80's. Citizens of communities called Westport from across the globe get together every summer and...well, I'm pretty sure they just drink a lot of beer. I mean, after "Hey! I live in Westport too!" they probably run out of things to talk about. This year's gathering is in Westport, Newfoundland.

So mom, happy belated birthday, old dear. We'll keep the beer cold 'til you get back.

Your mother is beautiful, so where's the picture? I can't wait to be an old broad drinking beer.

Pat is my role model...I want to still be drinking, smoking, and raising hell when I'm her age, and still be sexy doing all that!
