My copy of the new Gaelic Storm CD "What's The Rumpus" came in the mail yesterday. It's possibly the highest expression of human creativity yet attempted or achieved. It's a soaring artistic accomplishment that dwarfs all works, both musically and otherwise, that had the misfortune to come before. The ages will honor this collection of music as a timeless work of rare and true genius, and as lyrical and harmonic art at their very zenith.
I'm hoping to get a chance to listen to the whole thing today.
I know it's great because of the liner notes. See, tucked in with all the band thank-yous to guest musicians and managers and groupies and bookies and liquor store delivery boys is...me. My friends Ed Ward and Nan Krushinski of the Milwaukee and Pittsburgh Irish Fests are in there too as id Fuchsia Band man Mairtin de Cogain. Yes, I know they spelled my name "Reagan". It's a common mistake, thanks to that president. My son Tommy helpfully said "Papa, it's probably not even you!" (note to self: beat children more often) So I checked with Pat Murphy last night to be sure it was me. His response: "Yes it is, Bitch!" I think he's been hanging around with Tommy. (note to self: beat performers more often)
So, misspelled or not, I'm honored to be included in the thank-ees and can thus give my glowing recommendation of this fine album I haven't really listened to yet which you should all buy dozens of copies of. It just goes to show you what buying a round for the band will get you. Murphy, the check's in the mail and feel free to use my reviews in your press kit.
Gaelic Storm plays the Kansas City Irish Fest Friday and Saturday nights Labor Day weekend.

Hmmm. So you don't hire them, sign their check, or are the Executive Director of the festival. Must have been one of those "other" favors you provided the band.
If you were such good friend, then why did you have to buy a copy of the CD?
Anonymous #1: Hmmm. Actually I do sign the checks, the executive director as the employee of the board of directors doesn't have anything to do with band hiring and the entire board including me does have input as to what bands are booked. But, hey, funny joke! Ha ha!
Anonymous #2: I didn't have to.
My guess is Driscoll for A#1 with all that "factual" content.
