From The Other Side Of The Bar

Irish Fest Quaff Queen Sarah Schields, the woman who makes sure that all of you fine people avoid thirst at Irish Fest has asked for the floor. I humbly grant it and beg your attention.
We have gone to great lengths to make this year’s beverage consumption experience as pleasant and economically friendly (and even environmentally friendly!) as possible. Our new ticket-instead-of-cash-policy will ensure absolute minimal time waiting for that ice cold beer )or other beverage) and through much financial finagling, you won’t pay one penny more than you have in years past! Those are the kind of things that we Festers lay awake at night thinking about- how to provide you, our Dear Patrons, the most pleasant Irish Fest possible.

“What did I do to deserve this royal treatment?” you ask?

Nothing. Well, nothing yet anyway. But there is something you CAN do, oh yes! You can volunteer as part of the KCIF Beverage team!* Woo-hoo! We are in need of some stellar schleppers (that is so a real word) to help distribute soda, water, and the oh so important ICE (that’s what keeps the beer ICE cold). Imagine hot- like Kansas City SUMMER hot- beer. Eeeew. Nobody wants that, now do they? Sure the work is hot, somewhat dirty and involves heavy lifting, but you get to ride a Gator. Nooothin’ says sexy like a Gator. Trust me on this.

Available shifts are as follows:
Friday: Noon - 4:30pm and 7:30pm - 11:00pm

Saturday: 6:30 pm – 11:00 pm

Sunday: 6:30 pm – Midnight (for teardown)

*Of course, if you don’t volunteer, we still love you and want you to come on down and drink many beverages- responsibly.
A cold beer tastes better when you've earned it with some hard work. Join the few, the proud, the Beverage Crew. Click here.
